In the old part of Aurora, Ontario, there's this Centra supermarket. Back when we lived nearby, we used to shop there almost every day. I loved it! They had a huge selection of greens, veggies, and fruits — perfect for eating healthy. Honestly, when it comes to fruits and veggies, this place is unbeatable.
Of course, prices have gone up a bit there too.
I've got a few receipts from Centra that I started practicing on.
Centra has Chinese roots, and the receipts list products in both English and Chinese. My image parsing software doesn't recognize Chinese, so we stick with the English. But that’s not the only tricky part. Sometimes the product descriptions are so long they spill over onto the next line, and the software gets confused, mixing up prices. Plus, the receipts categorize items with labels like "&& Fruit" or "&& Grocery," which sometimes look like product names to the software.
Basically, figuring out Centra's receipts was a real challenge, and it took a lot of work. But hey, it was all part of the adventure!
In the end, the result was well worth it:
